What is love? I asked this questions several times to myself in life. The answer was pretty difficult till I discovered "love" through these kids and people who run this organization …
Love is "Universality”. And if u like algebra, it’s a simple liner equation that is a master equation of all. It is a reason; a reason to transform, a reason to celebrate, a reason to learn and a reason to write beautiful words with those experiences.
I was a simple man. A simple man indeed before. I was the one with burdens of drug production schedules in pipelines on a small head in a pharmaceutical industry. You can catch me hurrying towards office on some random day at chabahil. I was simple man because I had reason to live for myself. I had reason to get promoted. I had a reason to worry. I had a reason to live that life which billions of people are living. And then I discovered this school.
Love made me even simpler. But this time simplicity was an ease. Love simplifies your artificial complexities. Love is that majestic aura that magnetizes towards reality; and the reality was clearer when I first visited the school just to find an old lady with long scoops on hand. She was cleaning the drain. I asked the lady to show me the way to the principle of the school. She smiled and said- "Here I am". "RESPECT!!!"
This was the first English medium school in Bhaktapur founded by a fine Indian born gentleman- Deepak Ankalgee. "Born on" is not an issue if you can present the content of your sacrifices. He sacrified half-century for promoting the education of Nepal. He should have been awarded by the nation. He was by far sure more Nepali then many of us now.
"Kids love this school. Send your kids here if you want to teach them love" , says principle Durga with an honest smile on her face. Most of the kids here are the kids of farmers, cobblers, sweepers, and people of carpet factory and many of them are studying for free. They all learn the basis of survival; living with love and struggle here. Nobody is punished and yet the children follow their tracks. They do not want to live a life their parents don’t intend them to. "Why do you study?”, I asked a little 4th grade girl and she said –"for future". A small larva was developing inside the cocoon. I pray that she gets her colorful wings soon.
